Who We Are

Our goal is for your child to learn about Jesus as their forever friend and to build lasting Godly relationships along the way! But first, they have to feel safe and accepted!  We intend to do just that by offering individualized worship plans (IWP) to meet your child's needs.  We offer accommodations during 10:00 Sunday school and an opportunity to participate in our quarterly respite nights AKA  "Buddy Breaks".

Sunday School

Since each child gets an Individualized Worship Plan (IWP) we ask that you contact the Children's Special Needs Ministry Coordinator (Renee Hawkins-Walton) first, to ensure your first Sunday goes smoothly. Contact info below. She will chat with you about your child's strengths and struggles and together you will develop the Worship Plan. Worship Plans may include large group worship with a Buddy/Volunteer or small group worship through the use of the Special Needs classroom.

  • Our buddies are trained and caring individuals who know God and want to make him known to your child. To become a buddy, you must fill out an application, sign the ministry covenant, and have a background check completed. Contact Renee for more information or to see how you can become a buddy!

  • Monthly Lesson Focus

Each month in the special needs classroom we focus on a specific bible story and plan lessons, crafts, and activities surrounding that story. This gives us a chance to really expose each child to what the story is teaching them and to be able to do it in his/her own unique way.

Buddy Break

Our quarterly Buddy Breaks are a fun evening for children with special needs and their siblings (ages PreK-6th grade). Children will come to the church for 2 hours on a Friday night to sing, dance, learn about the love of Jesus, make crafts, play games, and make new friends. Parents get the evening off!!!

Each child will be assigned a 1-on-1 buddy so pre-registration is required!
